Oso Industries is a design and fabrication studio that looks at concrete through an artistic lens. Oso is the brainchild of the sculptor and designer Eric Weil.
Eric has a rich and extensive history in design that stemmed from his sculpture studies in college and his apprenticeship with woodcarvers in Ghana. These experiences eventually merged with his move to New York City, where he began to realize the untapped potential of concrete as a design medium.
In 2004, Eric started Oso Industries with the objective to challenge the preconceived notions of concrete, an overlooked and deemed ‘utilitarian’ medium. A year after the company’s conception, Eric released Oso’s first piece of furniture, The Rollerboy, which has since grown into an entire furniture line that is exhibited in some of the best contemporary design showrooms across the country.
Oso pushes the boundaries of design with elegant and innovative ideas. We are constantly exploring design with our team of artists and fabricators as well as our clients! Oso has worked, collaborated, and maintained relationships with many artists, designers, and architects over the years. Our artistic drive and desire to continually create and experiment is what sets Oso apart from other fabrication companies. We don’t only value craftsmanship, we understand the importance of the design process and the artistry that goes into every project. Our pieces and services are made and provided by a committed team of skilled craftsmen and artists who invest a part of themselves in every piece and project.
Let our skilled team of artisans and craftsmen help you realize your designs, whether it be a retail store, bar restaurant, a bathroom sink, or some functional art! The possibilities are endless here at Oso’s studio. Bring us that napkin doodle and we will figure out how to make it! We welcome all ideas and proposals no matter how big or small – if you can dream it, Oso can make it.
